How To Wear Summer Clothes In Winter

Now that winter has hit, are you having withdrawals from your favourite summer dress? Do not fear, Frou Frou is here!

I understand the heart ache you feel when winter rolls around and your fabulous summer dresses, skirts and tee-shirts are no longer keeping you warm. You can add stockings and a jacket, but sometimes that just isn't enough. Here are some easy ways to add some warmth to your favourite summer pieces while at the same time have you looking fab, it's a win, win!

This gorgeous bird print dress available from Frou Frou Designs

To keep the cold out, layer a long sleeve navy blouse or shirt under the dress.

 Top
Take your favourite summer top and layer a long sleeved basic dress under for warmth.

To complete this look, add a classic cut black jacket, bright textured stockings and a Blair Waldorf inspired hat.

Add a 100% Real Fur Vest (who doesn't love fur!)to your favourite Floral Jeans and basic tee combo for a super chic look.

Still a little cold? Layer up with a desert inspired blazer under the fur vest and add a chunky knit scarf to keep you toasty warm.

For this look, all you need is an eye catching skirt and a cute top. Isn't this top just gorgeous, Bambi Boy is our new Favourite here at Frou Frou!

Add pale pink leggings and an AMAZING Loop Knit Jumper to this outfit to keep warm and be the coolest kid around. Accessorise with a statement necklace.

Which outfit did you like best?

7 Different Looks Using Only 3 Clothing Items

Ever found yourself staying somewhere longer than expected and get stuck wearing the same outfit for a couple of days, I have.

When studying my friends and I were often faced with this problem. We would go into uni to start / finish an assignment and find ourselves in the computer labs for 40hrs plus straight (thank you architecture). With deadlines to meet we were stuck in the same outfit for 3 days, so we learnt to get creative.
If you aren't studying, no problem, these tips also apply to short trips or over night stays where you are restricted to pack light. All you need is one dress, a top, skirt and your choice of accessories to create 7 different looks, one for each day of the week!

The Dress
I have chosen a simple red dress that can we worn casual during the day or dressed up with heels and a statement necklace for a night out.

The Belt
Add an aqua belt for more of a statement.

The Top & Dress
Wear a cute sleeveless blouse over the dress, tie the bottom of the blouse to emphasise your waist line.

The Top, Dress & Belt
Wear the blouse unbuttoned with the belt for more of a casual look.

The Top, Belt & Dress
Wear the blouse over the dress and use the belt to pull in the top and accentuate your waist line.

The Dress & Skirt
Add the skirt over the dress to add some layering.

The Blouse & Skirt
The blouse and skirt is a super cute combo that can be worn to lunch with the boss or out to drinks with the girls.

The Top, Skirt and Belt
Add the belt for some colour.

Hope this has helped! All the items I have used are from Frou Frou Designs

Until next time, stay awesome.

How To Team Vintage With New

There are many adorable Vintage pieces that can be found from decades past. However, it can be hard at times to know how to wear vintage without looking like you are going to a costume party. Here are a few tips that will allow you to wear your gorgeous vintage pieces and get you that unique, one-of-a-kind look.

Don’t Dress Head To Toe In Vintage

Mix it up by wearing only one or two pieces per outfit. Team your vintage pieces with contemporary clothes and accessories from your wardrobe.

Dress for your body type

Some decades are better suited to particular figures. The 1950s saw gorgeous circle skirts that are suited to pear shaped bodies while the 1960s are known for their mini dresses which are ideal for those ladies with the legs! The 1970s produced the famous wrap dress (thanks to Diane von Furstenberg), these dresses are ideal for any body type while the 1980s saw HUGE shoulder pads, beware that large shoulders can be overwhelming for petite figures.

Keep Hair & Make Up Simple

Feel free to adopt hair and make up styles from the past but be sure not to go Over The Top. Remember, less is always more.
Vintage Jackets & Blazers
Vintage Round Neck Jacket

Vintage Accessories
