There are many adorable Vintage pieces that can be found from decades past. However, it can be hard at times to know how to wear vintage without looking like you are going to a costume party. Here are a few tips that will allow you to wear your gorgeous vintage pieces and get you that unique, one-of-a-kind look.
Don’t Dress Head To Toe In Vintage
Mix it up by wearing only one or two pieces per outfit. Team your vintage pieces with contemporary clothes and accessories from your wardrobe.
Dress for your body type
Some decades are better suited to particular figures. The 1950s saw gorgeous circle skirts that are suited to pear shaped bodies while the 1960s are known for their mini dresses which are ideal for those ladies with the legs! The 1970s produced the famous wrap dress (thanks to Diane von Furstenberg), these dresses are ideal for any body type while the 1980s saw HUGE shoulder pads, beware that large shoulders can be overwhelming for petite figures.
Keep Hair & Make Up Simple
Feel free to adopt hair and make up styles from the past but be sure not to go Over The Top. Remember, less is always more.
